We want everyone in San Antonio to be able to find us, read about the work and book it — including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need large text. This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we keep working at it.
What we have done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone; a “skip to content” link appears when you press Tab.
- Images carry text descriptions; films carry descriptive titles and do not play sound unless you turn it on.
- Headings, landmarks and form labels are marked up so screen readers can navigate and fill in forms. Form errors are announced in words, not just colour.
- Text scales with your browser settings and layouts reflow down to small phones. Colour contrast on body text meets AA.
- The phone number on every page is a tap-to-call link, and a real person answers 24/7 — you never have to use the site to reach us.
What we know about
- The site uses motion — films in the page headers and small animations as content comes into view. They are decorative and do not carry information, but at the moment they do not switch off with your device's “reduce motion” setting. If motion is a problem for you, call us and we will help over the phone.
- Scout's augmented-reality view depends on your phone's own AR feature; its dimensions and specifications are also available as plain text on the Scout page.
- Our dispatch map is a visual aid; the same towns are listed as text on the Towns page.
If something is in your way
