What counts

When it cannot wait until Monday.

Call the 24/7 line for any of these. Some are comfort, some are safety, and two of them can flood a ceiling while you sleep.

No cooling over 100° No heat in a freeze Burning smell CO alarm sounding Water pouring from the air handler Ice covering the line set Breaker tripping repeatedly Elderly or infant in the home Outdoor unit sparking or smoking
While you wait

Four things to do before we get there.

None of this replaces a technician, but it protects the equipment and sometimes fixes the problem before the truck arrives.

Shut it off if the coil is icedA system running on a frozen coil is pushing liquid refrigerant at the compressor. Off at the thermostat, fan on, and let it thaw.
Check the filter and the breakerA loaded filter and a tripped breaker are the two most common “emergencies,” and both are free to rule out before we bill you.
Leave, if a CO alarm soundsEveryone outside first, then call. Do not wait to see whether it stops.
Close up the houseBlinds down, doors shut, ceiling fans on. It buys degrees while you wait, especially in the afternoon.
What happens when you call

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. A Cowboy's technician greeted at a San Antonio front door
    01 / We show up

Licensed, background-checked, named, on time, in a marked truck.

  2. Technician metering an outdoor condenser unit
    02 / We diagnose

Pressures, temperatures, airflow, electrical — on the equipment you actually have.

  3. Technician showing options to homeowners at their kitchen table
    03 / We show you

The number in writing before a wrench turns. Repair or replace, both cases honestly.

  4. Technician shaking hands with homeowners beside a Cowboy's truck
    04 / We finish clean

Re-checked with you standing there, site cleaner than we found it.

Frequently asked

Emergency questions, answered straight.

More of them, with numbers, on the questions page →

Is someone really answering at 2 a.m.?

Yes — the after-hours line reaches our own dispatch on Blanco Road, holidays and weekends included. Not an answering service in another state.

Do you charge more after hours?

There is an after-hours rate, and you hear it before we roll. Comfort Club members do not pay the premium — that is much of the point of the membership.

How fast can you actually get here?

In a heat wave every crew in the county is busy, so we triage: no cooling with an infant or an elderly resident goes first. Dispatch gives you a real window and calls you if it moves.

What if it needs a part nobody has at 3 a.m.?

We stabilise what we can overnight — portable cooling, a safe shutdown, temporary heat — and get the part first thing. You will not be left guessing.

Should I just wait until morning?

If it is only comfort and the house is holding, waiting saves you the after-hours rate. If there is water, ice, a burning smell or a CO alarm, call now.

Dispatched to 40 towns across six counties — no travel surcharge inside the radius.
