What a real install includes

Nine things a cheap quote leaves out.

Two quotes for “a 3-ton system” can differ by thousands, and the difference is almost never the box in the yard. It is this list.

Manual J load calculation Matched indoor coil New line set or flush Correct refrigerant charge by weight New pad and isolation Electrical and disconnect brought to code Mechanical permit pulled Warranty registered in your name Old system hauled away
Sizing

Sized for your house, not for our invoice.

Bigger is not better. An oversized system satisfies the thermostat before it has run long enough to pull humidity out of the air, so you get a house that is cold and clammy, plus a compressor that short-cycles itself to an early grave.

We measureSquare footage, orientation, window area and shading, insulation, duct condition and infiltration — a Manual J, not a rule of thumb.
We matchCondenser, coil and blower as a rated pair, so the efficiency on the label is the efficiency you actually get.
We commissionCharge weighed in, airflow set, static pressure checked, and the readings written down and handed to you.
What happens when you call

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. A Cowboy's technician greeted at a San Antonio front door
    01 / We show up

Licensed, background-checked, named, on time, in a marked truck.

  2. Technician metering an outdoor condenser unit
    02 / We diagnose

Pressures, temperatures, airflow, electrical — on the equipment you actually have.

  3. Technician showing options to homeowners at their kitchen table
    03 / We show you

The number in writing before a wrench turns. Repair or replace, both cases honestly.

  4. Technician shaking hands with homeowners beside a Cowboy's truck
    04 / We finish clean

Re-checked with you standing there, site cleaner than we found it.

Frequently asked

Installation questions, answered straight.

More of them, with numbers, on the questions page →

How long does it take?

A straight changeout is typically one day. Ductwork, electrical, a new pad or a difficult attic access can add time — you hear which applies before you sign.

Do you pull the permit?

Yes, and we schedule the inspection. A quote that skips the permit is not cheaper; it is a problem you inherit when you sell.

Can I just replace the outdoor unit?

Rarely a good idea. Modern condensers are rated with a specific coil and blower; mixing old and new gives up the efficiency you paid for and can void the warranty.

What about financing?

In-house plans approved by us, plus Synchrony, Service Finance, Wisetack and GoodLeap with terms up to 15 years. Wisetack shows options on a soft credit pull.

Is a higher SEER2 worth it here?

More often than up north. San Antonio runs its systems most of the year, so the efficiency tiers have far more hours to pay themselves back.
